Cozumel cruise port schedule and things to do: 3 piers, every ship

Cozumel has three cruise piers, not one. Here is where each one is, who runs it, where to find the official arrival schedule, and why the ship that stops here is often the same one that stops at Roatán.

Cozumel cruise port, in one paragraph

Cozumel is the busiest cruise destination in Mexico, and it is not one port but three piers. Punta Langosta is in the heart of San Miguel, the island’s only town. The International Pier and Puerta Maya are side by side a few kilometres south, on the coast road. When more ships arrive than the piers can hold, the extra ones anchor and tender their passengers ashore. The map below places all three.

⚠️ Puerta Maya belongs to a cruise line. Its own website carries Carnival Corporation’s legal notice. That changes nothing to your day, but it explains why Carnival ships so often end up there.

Where to read the real schedule

The official Cozumel cruise ship schedule is published by the port authority of Quintana Roo, APIQROO, on its cruise arrival calendar. It is the source the other schedule sites copy, with a delay. If two sites disagree on your ship, trust the port authority.

The schedule on this page combines the two: the port authority’s calendar for the piers it has already confirmed, and published cruise itineraries for the months it has not released yet. Every pier says how sure we are of it, and the amber ones are a best guess, not a promise.

Same ship, next stop: Roatán

Most Western Caribbean itineraries that call at Cozumel also call at Roatán, Honduras, often in the same week. The two days are very different. Cozumel is a Mexican town with a long shopping waterfront. Roatán is green hills sitting on the second-largest barrier reef in the world.

And Cozumel itself keeps growing: the Quintana Roo port authority expects 1,374 cruise ship arrivals in Cozumel in 2026, a record for the island.

Costa Maya is often the next stop: its cruise port schedule lists every ship at its single pier.

If your ship continues to Roatán, the Roatán cruise ship schedule tells you which of its two terminals you will use and how many ships share the island with you that day. That is where I live, and where I meet my guests: small private groups, back at the ship with margin.

How many cruise piers does Cozumel have?
Three. Punta Langosta is right in downtown San Miguel. The International Pier and Puerta Maya sit next to each other a few kilometres south of town, along the coast road. Several ships can be alongside at once, and on the busiest days extra ships anchor off the coast and bring their passengers in by tender.
Which pier will my ship use in Cozumel?
It depends on the cruise line and on the day. Puerta Maya belongs to Carnival Corporation, so Carnival brand ships usually berth there, but the assignment is made by the port authority and the cruise lines, and it can change. The only reliable answer is the official arrival calendar of the Quintana Roo port authority, and your cruise line's own documents a few days before the call.
Where can I see the official Cozumel cruise ship schedule?
The port authority of Quintana Roo, APIQROO, publishes the cruise arrival calendar for Cozumel. It is the primary source: ship name, date, pier and times. Other websites copy it, with a delay. If two sources disagree, trust the port authority.
Is Puerta Maya the same as the International Pier?
No. They are two separate piers side by side, south of San Miguel. Puerta Maya is owned by Carnival Corporation; the International Pier is run by a port operator, not by a cruise line. Their shopping areas are a short walk apart, which is why many visitors think it is one place.
My ship stops in Cozumel and in Roatán. Is the day the same?
Not at all. In Cozumel you dock in a Mexican town with a long shopping waterfront. In Roatán you dock in Honduras, on the second-largest barrier reef in the world, and the island is mostly green hills and reef. Many Western Caribbean itineraries call at both in the same week, so it is worth planning the two days differently instead of repeating the same excursion twice.
