Acqua di Mare Roatán: kitchen in the unit, not all-inclusive
A brand-new West Bay property: apartments with full kitchens, a large pool and a real restaurant on site. Bed and breakfast, not all-inclusive — and that is exactly what makes it worth considering. Your stay and your excursions, arranged in English by your partner on the island.

🔴 This is not an all-inclusive — and that is the point
This comes first, because it is the thing that changes your stay and your budget the most.
Acqua di Mare runs on a room-and-breakfast basis. Breakfast is included. Lunch, dinner and drinks are not.
Except that here, that is not a gap. The units have full kitchens — island, cooktop, fridge. So you are not forced to pay a restaurant three times a day: you shop, you cook like you would at home, and you go out when you feel like it.
| Acqua di Mare | All-inclusive (Henry Morgan, Mayan Princess…) | |
|---|---|---|
| Meals | breakfast included, kitchen in the unit | everything included |
| Drinks | on you | included |
| On-site budget | you control it | close to nothing |
| Freedom | eat where and when you want | eat at the resort |
| Advertised price | lower up front | higher, but complete |
⚠️ The package price therefore does not compare directly with an all-inclusive. You have to add what you will spend on food — groceries or restaurants, your call. That is the one figure missing to compare honestly.
Who it suits: travellers who find all-inclusives confining, families who want to prepare children’s meals, longer stays, and anyone who wants to try West End’s restaurants. Who it does not suit: anyone who wants a budget locked in advance and nothing to decide all week.
What the photos show
The property is brand new. A white four-storey building with wooden slat screens, a ceiling fan on every balcony, and a large pool lined with loungers and palms. You come in under a timber-framed pavilion with tall arched glass doors.
The units are apartment-style: kitchen with a marble island, living room, sliding doors onto a balcony. Bedrooms with wall-mounted air conditioning and a ceiling fan, grey plank flooring, a television. There are king configurations and twin-bed ones.
The on-site restaurant is not resort catering: the plates are composed, with lobster and rack of lamb on the menu.
It is not on the beach — it is three minutes from it
The other thing to know before booking, because it is the second possible surprise after the not-all-inclusive formula.
The property sits back from the sea, behind a band of trees, on higher ground. The aerial in the gallery shows it plainly: the bay and its dock are beyond the vegetation, not at the foot of the building.
The beach is under a 3-minute walk. That is short, but it is not the same as stepping out of your room onto the sand, the way you do at Infinity Bay or Mayan Princess. If that detail matters to you, pick one of those two instead.
In exchange you get the pool, the quiet, and an open view over the bay that the front-row resorts do not have.
What WorldHotels means, and what it does not
Acqua di Mare joined the WorldHotels Distinctive Collection in 2025, a grouping of independent upscale hotels.
It is a label, not a chain. The property stays independent. The label brings international visibility and a loyalty programme, not a standardised service guarantee.
⚠️ And above all: the collection’s marketing says “luxury resort”; the formula is still a B&B. The two are not contradictory, but the word “resort” will mislead you if you are expecting a wristband and a buffet.
What it costs, at the latest survey
Packages leave from Montréal (YUL) and Québec City (YQB), all on direct flights, with WestJet Vacations or Sunwing Vacations, for 7 nights double occupancy, taxes and the FICAV contribution included.
🔴 Reminder from the top of this page: those amounts cover the flight, the unit and breakfast. Not your other meals. With a kitchen in the apartment that line is far lower than in a hotel without one — but it is not zero.
