How to walk out of Coxen Hole on an MSC port day

The Port of Roatán is laid out as a maze of duty-free shops, the Town Center, and the layout is not an accident: it is built so you spend before you reach the street. Getting past it is simple once you know the line to walk.

  1. Off the gangway, cross the Town Center buildings following the EXIT signs.
  2. Keep going past the shops and the mass-excursion sellers.
  3. Head for the port’s main gates, signed Gate 1 or Main Gate.
  4. Through the gate, follow the road down with the cemetery on your left until it meets the main street. Cross at the crosswalk: I am on the sidewalk in front of the long grey concrete building, in a green and black bandana, with a sign with your name on it. Message me on Messenger or WhatsApp before your call and I will send you a photo, so you know exactly who you are looking for.

Two or three minutes of walking, and you have skipped the part of the day MSC sells you.

Can I book a Roatán excursion without going through MSC?
Yes. You're not required to take the excursions sold on board. I offer you the same experiences (Jolly Roger, catamaran, Big French Key, island tour, snorkeling…) in a small private group, in your own language, and I get you back to your ship well before boarding.
Where does MSC dock in Roatán?
At the Port of Roatán, in Coxen Hole (the Town Center pier) — the busiest port on the island. The MSC ships that dock there most often are the MSC Seascape and the MSC World America.
Will I make it back in time for my MSC ship?
Guaranteed. I build our day around your ship's schedule and get you back to the Port of Roatán at least 1 to 1.5 hours before boarding. If your ship can't dock (weather, force majeure), your deposit is refunded in full.
What language are your excursions in?
English, French or Spanish — your choice, guided personally by Patrice, a trilingual Québécois. That's a real edge over MSC: they run big multilingual groups where your language often comes last, and their own excursion catalog is only half-localized. With me it's a small private group in the language you're comfortable in, from start to finish.
