Your Carnival ship docks at Mahogany Bay, which Carnival calls “Isla Tropicale” — same port, operated by Carnival Corporation. On board, they push hard to get you to book the ship’s excursions.
Here’s the secret: those excursions are run by local operators — the same beaches, parks and reefs I visit with my own guests. I offer you the same experiences, in a small private group, with a Divemaster who’s lived on Roatán since 2014 — and a guaranteed return to your ship. ⚓ Cruise note: Pigeon Cay is only offered to groups of 5 or more on a cruise stop. For 1 to 4 people, go with West Bay or the island tour.
Isla Tropicale is a private Carnival complex, and it is designed to keep you inside it. The
taxis parked within the terminal hold a monopoly and price like one. Walking out costs
nothing and takes five to seven minutes.
- Come off the ship and cross the covered shopping area, past the duty-free.
- Follow the red walkway toward the taxi parking.
- Take the small paved hill to the left of the taxi kiosk. It climbs toward the main
road. Five to seven minutes on foot.
- At the top, go through the green security barrier. Just past it, on your right, there
is a stone guard post with a green roof, beside the crosswalk. Go and sit inside
it, out of the sun, and look across the street: I am the one in a green and black
bandana, with a sign with your name on it. Message me on
Messenger or WhatsApp before
your call and I will send you a photo, so you know who you are looking for.
That is the whole trick. No taxi negotiation, no queue behind four hundred people waiting for
a ship excursion, and you are on the road while the coaches are still loading.

Your port-day itinerary
- Departure between 7 and 9 a.m., Roatán local time. The exact time follows your ship’s arrival. I’ll be waiting for you right outside the terminal, sign in hand.
- Flexible route to your chosen excursion — photo stops along the way.

- Options on request (payable on site): diving, zip-lining, ATV, dolphins, glass-bottom boat.
