Every scheduled call, month by month, ship by ship, and which berth it pulls into. 957 calls from today through December 2028, read from the same schedule as the rest of this page.
Berths and times come from the published schedule and can change: a ship can be moved from one berth to the other on the day. Ask Patrice the morning of your call.

These are capacities, not head counts. The figure is the maximum capacity of the ships in port: a ship rarely sails full and not every passenger goes ashore. Read it as a ceiling, useful above all to compare one period with another. Passengers and crew are counted separately: crew go ashore too, but they are not the same visitors.

🛳️ Most cruise passengers who come ashore in Roatán sailed from Galveston: 116 port calls and up to537,012 seats, ahead ofMiami. Roatán is fed by the Gulf of Mexico and Florida.
How this home port is worked out. A call on 8 December belongs to the voyage whose date window contains it: if the ship left Galveston on 5 December for 7 nights, the call comes from Galveston. When two voyages overlap with different home ports, we show nothing rather than guess: 0 call of 957 remains undetermined.
Port calls sourced from CruiseMapper, ship capacities likewise. Snapshot of 2026-09-08, refreshed at every publication. Cruise lines sometimes change their calls without notice: always double-check with your ship.

The Port of Roatán at Coxen Hole, in one paragraph
The Port of Roatán is the island’s main cruise terminal, in Coxen Hole, the town where
Roatán actually works: the town hall, the market, the shops. It has two alongside berths and
can receive four ships at once, two at the pier and two at anchor whose passengers come in by
tender. Inside the gates you are in the Town Center, a shopping complex. Outside them you are
in Roatán.
It is not the island’s only cruise port. Isla Tropicale, which Carnival used to call
Mahogany Bay, is a separate complex on the south shore. If you are unsure which one receives
your ship, the schedule below answers it by name and by date, and the
comparison of both ports sets them side by side.

Leaving on your own
Yes, you walk out into town
Yes, but the complex is designed to hold you
The 14 calls by Celebrity, Cunard and Holland America are counted under both ports, because
those three lines publish both terminals for Roatán. Appearing under both is not the same as
being counted twice: the totals above say where each ship actually ties up when it is known, and
name the three lines when it is not.
Which berth, and why nobody can promise you one
Berth 1 and Berth 2 take the ships that tie up. When more than two ships are in on the same day,
the extra ones anchor in the bay and tender their passengers ashore. That matters to your
day: a tender adds waiting at both ends, and it is the single most common reason a port day feels
shorter than the timetable said.
The assignment is made by the port with the cruise lines, usually days before, not months.
Anyone who tells you your berth number in advance is guessing. What you can plan is the rest:
your arrival time, your all-aboard time, and how far you are willing to travel in between.
🔴 From Coxen Hole, West Bay is roughly 30 to 40 minutes each way. Say an hour and a half of
your port call is road, before you have swum anything. That single line is the most useful thing
on this page, and it is the number the tour desks inside the terminal will not volunteer.
Step outside the port
The Town Center is comfortable, and it is built so that you spend your day inside it. That is a
legitimate choice, and if you want a short, low-effort port day it is the right one. But it is a
shopping complex that happens to be in Honduras, not the island.
What is actually outside: the second-largest barrier reef in the world, twenty minutes of water
between you and it, a road that climbs over the ridge with the whole bay behind it, and a
population of about 100,000 people who live here.
I am Patrice. I have lived on Roatán since 2014, I am a divemaster and a drone pilot, and I wait
for you out on the main street, not inside the port: walk through the Town Center, out the
gate, and follow the road down with the cemetery on your left. At the bottom it meets Coxen
Hole’s main street. Cross at the crosswalk and I am on the sidewalk in front of the long grey
concrete building, in a green and black bandana, with a sign with your name on
it. Message me on
Messenger or WhatsApp before your
call and I will send you a photo, so you know exactly who you are looking for. Small private group, in French, English or Spanish, and you
are back at the ship with margin. The three excursions, their prices and what is included are on
the main cruise port page.
Book with the ship, or independently?
The ship’s tour desk sells the certainty of being back on board, and charges for it. That
certainty is real and it is worth something. What it costs you is group size, pace, and the
chance to ask a question and get an actual answer.
Independently, you carry the timing risk yourself. My answer to that is to build the margin in
rather than promise it away: I plan against your all-aboard time, not against mine, and I have
never had a guest miss a ship since 2014. If the schedule slips on the day, I bring you back
early and we cut the last stop, not the buffer.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which berth will my ship use at the Port of Roatán?
The Port of Roatán has two alongside berths, Berth 1 and Berth 2, and it can handle four ships at once: two tied up at the pier and two more at anchor, whose passengers come ashore by tender. Which one you get is decided by the port and your cruise line, usually only days ahead, so nobody can promise you a berth months in advance. What does not change is where I meet you: at the terminal exit, whichever berth or tender dock you come through.
Is the Port of Roatán the same as Coxen Hole?
Yes. The Port of Roatán sits in Coxen Hole, the main town of the island, and the two names are used for the same place. You will also see it called the Town Center, which is the shopping complex inside the port gates. It is not the same port as Isla Tropicale, formerly Mahogany Bay, which is the Carnival complex on the south shore about ten minutes away.
Which cruise lines dock at Coxen Hole rather than Isla Tropicale?
Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC, Virgin, Oceania, Regent, Crystal, Viking, P&O, TUI and Margaritaville at Sea use the Port of Roatán at Coxen Hole. Carnival and Princess use Isla Tropicale. Celebrity, Cunard and Holland America publish both terminals for Roatán, so if you sail with one of those three, confirm with your cruise line before the day. That is why their ships appear under both ports in the schedule above.
How many ships call at the Port of Roatán?
Thirty-six ships across the published schedule, for 420 port calls and about 1.5 million passengers. That is roughly two thirds of everyone who arrives at Roatán by ship. The schedule above lists every one of them with its date, arrival and departure times, and you can search by your own date to see how many ships share the island with you.
Can I leave the Port of Roatán on my own?
Yes. Unlike a cruise line's private island, the Port of Roatán is a public port in a working town: you walk out of the terminal and you are in Roatán. Independent guides are allowed to meet you at the exit. That is the whole difference between this port and a closed resort pier, and it is why an independent excursion is possible here at all.
What is inside the Town Center at the Port of Roatán?
Shops, duty free, bars, a few restaurants and tour desks, all inside the gates. It is comfortable and it is built to keep you spending inside the perimeter for your whole port day. The reef, the beaches and the island itself are outside. Nothing stops you from staying in, but you will have seen a shopping centre rather than Roatán.
How far is West Bay Beach from Coxen Hole?
About 30 to 40 minutes each way by road, traffic depending. It is the closest good reef to the port and it is the reason most people leave the terminal. Budget the round trip honestly against your all-aboard time: an hour and a half of your port day is travel, before you have swum anything.
Where exactly do I meet my guide at the Port of Roatán?
Out on the main street, not at the terminal exit. Walk through the Town Center and out the port gate, then follow the road downhill with the cemetery on your left. At the bottom it runs into Coxen Hole's main street: cross at the crosswalk and I am waiting on the sidewalk in front of the long grey concrete building, wearing a green and black bandana, with a sign with your name on it. It is all downhill and it takes a few minutes. Message me on Messenger or WhatsApp before your call and I will send you a photo of myself, so you are not looking for a stranger in a crowd. I stay outside the gate on purpose: inside, the lot belongs to the ship's own tours and to the port taxis.
How do I book a guided excursion from the Port of Roatán?
Send me your ship name and your date and I will confirm whether you are at Coxen Hole or Isla Tropicale, then we agree on a departure time that fits your all-aboard. Small private group, French, English or Spanish, and you are back at the terminal with margin. I have lived on the island since 2014 and I am the one who meets you, not a dispatcher.
Only one day in Roatán? Make it unforgettable
Give me your ship's name and your port-call hours: I build the day around your schedule and get you back well before all-aboard. In English, French or Spanish, in a small group, with zero pressure to buy.
