Cruise port call

Harmony of the Seas is the biggest ship that docks in Roatán: 5,707 passengers. But she is not a regular. After nine Wednesdays last winter, she only comes back in May 2027, and this time on Tuesdays.

Her Roatán itinerary: the Tuesdays of 2027

No call between March 4, 2026 and May 11, 2027. If your cruise is before that, this is not the ship that brings you here.

In 2027 the port register lists seven calls, all at Coxen Hole:

Coxen Hole, and almost alone in port

Harmony docks at the Port of Roatán, in Coxen Hole, the island’s main pier. ⚓ Before reading a generic guide, read the Coxen Hole page: it covers your pier.

Her 2027 Tuesdays are quiet. There are two ships in port, no more: Harmony and, five times out of six, the smaller Enchantment of the Seas, at the same pier. Harmony alone brings 64 to 71% of the day’s cruise passengers, 8,000 to 9,000 in total. The October call is different: four ships, more than 15,000 passengers. The crowd calendar gives the exact count for your date.

The biggest ship in Roatán

362 m (1,188 ft) long, 47 m (154 ft) wide, 17 decks, about 227,000 gross tons. In service since 2016, she belongs to Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class.

Capacity: 5,707 passengers at double occupancy, up to 6,555 with every berth filled, plus 2,394 crew. The first number is the one that matters at the pier, the one on the port schedule, and it is the highest of any ship that calls here. By length, Icon of the Seas is three meters longer. The full ranking, to scale, is in my cruise ship size comparison.

Of her five sister ships, only one also calls at Roatán: Symphony of the Seas.

What port does she sail from?

Her 2027 Roatán calls sail from Port Canaveral, near Orlando, Florida. Royal Caribbean publishes the full itinerary; I have the Roatán stop, with the exact pier, the real hours and what happens ashore that day.

⚓ Royal Caribbean has 9 ships and 154 calls in Roatán over twelve months. If your cruise is on another of their ships, the Royal Caribbean page covers them all.

What to do on her call day

Nine hours ashore on a quiet Tuesday in port: a great day to head out early in a small group. I’ll take you to Pigeon Cay and its nurse sharks or snorkeling in West Bay, in English, French or Spanish, and get you back to the ship with time to spare. All my excursions are on the tours page.

The numbers, read from the port register
