Las Verandas, at Pristine Bay
Las Verandas Hotel And Villas at Pristine Bay is the north-coast Roatán property built around two things nowhere else on the island combines: a private, crescent-shaped white-sand beach and Roatán’s only golf course. The property is part of Pristine Bay, a 400-acre community, about 15 minutes from the international airport.
It’s a different proposition from the classic all-inclusive resorts like Infinity Bay or Henry Morgan: at Pristine Bay, the centerpiece isn’t the buffet or the beach animation program — it’s the golf course itself.
Black Pearl Golf Course: the only one on the island
Black Pearl Golf Course is built into the Pristine Bay property. It is literally the only golf course anywhere on Roatán — no other hotel, no other spot on the island, offers this. For golfers traveling the Caribbean, that’s a real drawing card, not just a line item on the activity list.
The course runs along a lagoon and the coastline, with a driving range and practice area separate from the main course. It’s booked directly through the golf club — the lodging package sold through Roatán Québécois does not include green fees or a golf package by default. If golf is part of your plans, send me your dates and I’ll confirm current green fee rates before you leave, so you can book your tee time with real numbers in hand.
Rooms and villas
The property’s full name — Las Verandas Hotel And Villas — reflects two distinct types of lodging on site: standard hotel rooms and larger villas built for families or groups traveling together. Which one fits depends on your budget and party size. Tell me your travel profile and I’ll point you to the option that matches your needs and budget.
The beach and the Beach Club
Pristine Bay has its own private, crescent-shaped beach, white sand facing the Caribbean Sea and the Mesoamerican Reef. On top of the beach itself, the property includes a beach club with infinity pools, loungers and water access. The beach club is a distinct area from the hotel — some services there run on a membership or day-pass basis depending on the plan booked. I’ll confirm exactly what’s included in your package before you book, so there are no surprises on arrival.
Golf and beach, on one trip
For a lot of travelers, the appeal of Pristine Bay isn’t golf alone — it’s not having to choose between a golf trip and a beach trip. A couple where one person golfs and the other doesn’t has a real option here that doesn’t exist anywhere else on Roatán: one heads to Black Pearl in the morning, the other to the beach club pools, and you meet back up for dinner. That’s the actual use case behind the numbers, and it’s worth naming directly if it matches how you travel.
What’s included in your stay
The exact plan at Las Verandas depends on the package and time of year. Because the property combines lodging, beach club and golf as three pieces that sometimes book separately, I confirm precisely what’s included — meals, drinks, beach club access — before you book anything.
What I always coordinate for you, regardless of plan:
- 🚐 Round-trip transfers between the airport and Pristine Bay
- ⛳ Tee time booking at Black Pearl Golf Course, if golf is on your itinerary
- 🏝️ Excursions elsewhere on the island
Who Pristine Bay is for
Pristine Bay fits a specific traveler:
- You want to golf during your Caribbean trip without compromising on the destination
- You’re traveling as a couple or mixed group with both golf and beach interests, and want both on one property
- You want a real private beach AND a beach club with infinity pools, not a trade-off between the two
- You want a calm property built around golf and the beach rather than a lively neighborhood
It’s probably not the right fit if you want the lively neighborhood feel of West Bay or West End, with restaurants and nightlife a short walk away — Pristine Bay is more secluded, built for quiet rather than activity.
